I figured that I might as well create a blog about youtube, because this popular site can be very overwhelming and confusing.
The biggest problem I had in the beginning was trying to figure out what I could and could not do.  It took me a while to figure out what was 'allowable'.

Anyway, today, I'm dealing with my 'copyright infringement' problems.  I made a lot of videos using other people's music, so now I have to go through all of those videos and acknowledge that fact.  This is taking some time.  I'm in my second hour of doing this.
If I would have known it was wrong, I wouldn't have done it in the first place.
But there is a happy end to this hopefully.  My account will remain in good shape, and the people who own the content will get their due; in other words, they will get paid if the videos I made using their content get a lot of hits.
So, I think it will work out fine.

Currently, I am on my second youtube channel.  The first one got confused with my gmail account, so I can't really access it anymore.  This happened because I finally figured out how to monetize my account.
So now, I am working towards monetizing as many of my videos as I can, so I can actually make money.
I also blog a lot, and that is all tied in now.
All this stuff, from making the videos, to managing my account, has taken years.

     I've faced the music.

My channel is not, nor will never be a really popular one.  People watch what they want, and I can't force them to watch, I can only suggest. And even that rarely works, so I don't even bother with promotion or anything like that.

Anyway, it is all a rollicking good time, isn't it?

In any case, having my own youtube blog will help me to figure out what is going on with youtube, and maybe along the way, I can help others with the information I discover.
I have helped people before with youtube, including family and friends, guiding them with channel set-up, and how to upload.  There are also lots of other things to be aware of.

So, I figure that I am a couple of years deep into this youtube channel, and I'll see what happens.  It is unprecedented territory for everyone in the world being able to make videos, and be able to post them so that everyone else in the world can watch.  It is kind of exciting, actually.
So, we are all in this together.

One thing I get asked sometimes is, "How do you get subscribers?"
Well, the way I do it is to subscribe to a lot of channels that I like, and sometimes they return the favor.
The other way is to make really awesome content.  People will subscribe if you have incredible stuff to watch.

It is my intention on this blog to write about all aspects of youtube that I can.  It will be a discovery process for me, and you are welcome to come along for the ride.  Hopefully, it will be fun.

I've generated about $83 on my adsense account so far, and basically, the better I do with my youtube and blogger accounts, the more money I will make.  So, I want to make this profitable for me, too.  In all honesty, I could use a vacation.  I've been working every day on this stuff for years.

That is another thing to be aware of on youtube.  Things take time, and you have to be really patient, and not expect fast results, because most of the time, it just doesn't happen that way.
Some people get lucky, but that hasn't been my case so far, but you never know what can happen, to be honest.  It is good to remain 'permanently optimistic'.

One reason why you might not be getting hits or subscribers is because your videos suck, and need improvement.  I learned that lesson.
Why would anyone watch my videos if even I can barely stand to watch them?
That is when I started trying a little harder.

One thing I would like to say, is that it is in your benefit to be nice to people on youtube.  So many people flood the site with stupid and ignorant comments, and I don't think that helps anybody, unless the comment is poignant, or really funny.
Just so you know, some kid told me his account got banned because of the mean comments he was making.  He had a channel with a hundred subscribers, and now that account is lost forever, so he had to start all over again.
So, save yourself some trouble, and be nice to people.

Well, I hope this helps, and I will add to this blog, when more ideas come.

Thanks for reading, and good luck on your youtube channel.  There could be good things ahead.
